AS9100 Certification

AS9100 Quality Management Standard, AS9100 Rev C.

Quality management standard (QMS) for the Aerospace Industry, AS9100 standard is designed to meet stringent, complex and unique demands of the defense and commercial Aerospace industry. Similar to ISO 9001:2000, nearly 100 additional requirements specific to Aerospace, being certified to an accredited AS9100 registrar provides organizations with a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) focused on areas directly impacting product safety and reliability, including:
Configuration management- requires that management discipline be applied over the life cycle of a product to provide visibility and control of its functional and physical characteristics.
Design-ensures that design responsible organizations have a robust design process to meet safety and reliability requirements demanded by the Aerospace industry.
Purchasing-requires effective controls over the organization’s entire supply chain.
Product Realization- ensures that each phase of product realization, from planning procuring and manufacturing to shipment is controlled for delivery of product conforming to customer requirements.
Product Monitoring/Measurement - defines requirements for product validation prior to shipment.
AS9100 Advantage:
Independent Certification to AS9100 via an AS9100 registrar validates your company’s commitment to Quality and provides the organization with:
Performance based analysis aimed towards defect prevention methods and continual improvement.
Fulfilling certification requirements as approved suppliers for OEMs.
Improve customer satisfaction and reduction in audits and oversight by the OEMs.
Enhanced performance and cost savings from operational consistency and reduction in rework and scrap.
  Distinct advantage over competition.
  Prestigious international recognition.
Transitioning to AS9100 Rev. C
As of July 1, 2011, all audits conducted, and certificates issued will be to the new AS9100C standard. As of July 1, 2012, AS9100B will be withdrawn, and with it, all certificates that still reflect AS9100 Rev. B.
If your certificate is withdrawn, you will not be able to "renew" the certificate and a complete, new AS9100 audit will have to be conducted before a certificate can be issued.
We have prepared a video that explains the AS9100 Rev. B to AS9100 Rev. C transition. This video can be accessed via our Blog or by clicking here to go to ISA's You Tube Channel.
